Advanced Techniques for Optimal Performance

Building upon the foundational skills learned in Concealed Carry Red Dot 1, this course takes your proficiency with a red dot-equipped handgun to the next level. Designed for individuals seeking to enhance their speed, accuracy, and confidence in real-world scenarios, Concealed Carry Red Dot 2 introduces advanced topics and techniques to elevate your concealed carry skills.

This is not a beginner course . Completion of Concealed Carry Red Dot 1 is required. We will be starting the course with a modified version of the 5x5 drill.



Class Instruction Includes:

  • Shooting on the move
    • Importance and benefits of shooting on the move
    • Techniques for shooting while moving laterally, forward, and backward
    • Maintaining balance, stability, and accuracy during movement
  • Moving and Shooting
    • Incorporating dynamic movements into shooting scenarios
    • Sidestepping, pivoting, and shooting on the move
  • Transitions
    • Efficiently transitioning between targets with a red dot
  • Multiple Target Engagements
    • There will be a scenario towards the end of the course which involves live ammunition and positively identifying your target.
    • Engaging multiple targets effectively and prioritizing threats
  • Unknown Contacts
    • Cognitive Drills
    • Balancing speed, accuracy, and target identification in unknown encounters
  • Shooting positions
    • Shooting from unconventional positions (e.g., kneeling, prone)
    • Utilizing cover and shooting from behind barriers
    • Adapting shooting techniques to different shooting positions
  • One Handed Shooting
    • Including shooting while holding onto someone or gripping a kettlebell, to simulate real-world scenarios.



Objective:

Master the use of a red dot-equipped handgun for concealed carry. Develop advanced skills in deploying your firearm, engaging targets while moving, transitioning between targets, and effectively handling unknown contacts. Enhance your proficiency in shooting from various positions, utilizing cover, and optimizing situational awareness. Gain confidence and readiness to navigate real-world concealed carry scenarios with speed, accuracy, and efficiency.

Class Size/Minimum: Max of 12/Minimum 4

Prerequisites: Student must have successfully passed the Concealed Carry Red Dot 1 course.


Course Length: 9 Hours on range, with a lunch break (~45 minutes). Course time is 8:30a to 5:30p.



Range Location: Farm Training Center; Fairfield, Utah. Roughly one week before the class date an email will be sent to notify which bay and where to park.



Equipment*

Required:

  • Open Mind
  • Miniature Red Dot Sight (MRDS) Equipped Handgun
  • Holster: Kydex or injection molded AIWB or Strong Side IWB. No Leather, Nylon or SERPA.
  • Ammo: 600
  • Eye Protection
  • Electronic Hearing Protection (Must be electronic in order to hear instructions during live fire).
  • Magazine Holster
  • Extra Batteries for MRDS and hearing protection
  • Tools to remove, replace battery or install MRDS on handgun.
  • Minimum of 5 Magazines (if single stack bring double) and the ability to have 40 rounds on the firing line (either in magazine holsters or pockets) at the start of course of fire.
  • Marker - Either a Sharpie or something reliable that can write on multiple target materials.
  • LUNCH - bring lunch!
  • Water or something to hydrate. The range does not have any facilities but does have a Porta Potty so bring plenty of water.
  • Notepad and pen. Be sure to take notes!

Recommended:

  • Backup Handgun
  • Defog agent for optic lens. We recommend Cat Crap.
  • Extra attire for inclement weather - we shoot rain or shine. Be prepared even if the weather says it will be nice!
  • Camping chair - To use during breaks or Lunch
  • Extra snacks - bring more than you think you will need.

You understand that as a participant in this training, you will be responsible for any equipment that you may be required to supply. You understand that you should choose to bring and use reliable and reputable equipment.

Before participating, all shooters will need to complete and sign the provided Training Waiver. This will be sent out shortly after registration and is required for all students prior to joining a course.



All sales are final. No refunds.

However, if we are notified of your enrollment cancellation more than 30 days from the training class date, your payment (minus a $25 cancellation fee) will be applied as a credit to another class. This credit will expire after 1 year and the funds will be considered forfeited. No-shows without prior notice will not be given any such credit.
